August 10, 2021
Dear Riddle Brook School Families:
We hope you are enjoying the remainder of your summer. We’re sure that you are beginning to anticipate the start of school. We’ve been working hard to prepare Riddle Brook School for opening day on Thursday, August 26th. Below please find some important logistical information.
School Hours
Our school hours are 8:00 AM – 2:20 PM (grades 1 – 4), and 8:00 AM – 10:40 AM (AM Kindergarten & AM K+); 11:40 AM – 2:20 PM (PM Kindergarten & PM K+).
Meet and Greet
Please join us on Wednesday, August 25th for Meet and Greet (grades K – 4). In order to help alleviate the crowding and help with the limited parking, we are breaking the visitation down into 2 time slots (similar to Open House). Please feel free to come at any time during your time slot. The schedule is as follows:
· A-K (last name of students): 1:30-2:15 PM
· L-Z (last name students): 2:15-3:00 PM
*If you have a blended family, please feel free to attend only 1 session.
This is a wonderful time to meet your teacher and classmates, and get a “sneak peek” at your classroom!
Bus Routes
2021/22 bus routes have not been finalized and published yet, but please keep an eye out during the next couple of weeks. You can find them on our district website under Department - Transportation. You can use the following link as well. BSD Bus Routes
Drop Off & Pick Up Procedures
Drop Off (7:30 AM - 8:00 AM):
Starting at 7:30 AM, parents/guardians will drop off their children at the back circle (as you’ve typically done). However, depending on the traffic flow, you may be directed to the front of the building to drop off. Children will need to exit their vehicles on the passenger side. Staff members will be present to help direct traffic and guide children into the building.
Pick-Up (2:20 PM)
By 2:20 PM, students will be in the gym and ready to be dismissed to their parents/guardians' vehicles outside of the two gym doors. Parents/guardians will proceed to the back circle and loop around to the side of the gym. Staff members will be present to help direct traffic and dismiss children. Children will need to enter their vehicles on the passenger side. Each vehicle should have a clearly labelled and visible sign with the first and last name(s) of the child(ren) being picked up, and parents/guardians must be prepared to show identification until duty people are familiar with you.
*Please have your children practice exiting and entering your vehicle independently.
We look forward to seeing you soon!
Sincerely,
Molly McCarthy, Principal & Matt Munsey, Assistant Principal
