Wishing everyone a
relaxing and fun-filled February vacation!
Snow Day Count = 6
Tentative Last Day of
School = Thursday, June 21st
IN THE NEWS:
4th Grade Play
Save the Date! On April 17th the entire
fourth grade will present "Rats! The Story of the Pied Piper." Every boy and girl in fourth grade has a part
to perform in the colorful re-telling of this classic folktale. Rehearsal (all during school hours) begins
right after our February vacation, and will culminate in what promises to be a
fabulous presentation to parents and friends at 6:30 PM on Tuesday,
April 17th. You will not want
to miss this!
KidVote 2018 (Sponsored by Bedford PTG)
Bedford School District
students will have an opportunity to cast a vote during our School/Town Voting
Day on Tuesday, March 13th.
At RBS, students will vote on a day for April Spirit Week. The choices are:
1. Holiday Day
(Dress for your favorite holiday – no matter what time of the year it is!)
2. Comfy Day
(Wear your most comfortable clothes.)
3. Teacher/Student
Mix Up Day (Students dress like their teacher, and teachers dress like a
student.)
Food Drive
RBS is working with the Bedford Food Pantry to help collect food
items that are most needed by families.
Every other month we will be collecting 1 food item. For
the month of March, that item is CANNED FRUIT. If you are able, please bring in canned fruit until Friday, March 30th. We
will have a box for donations in the office hallway outside of the
library. Thank you so much for
supporting this very worthy cause, which supports Bedford families.
The PTG and BeBOLD ARE EXCITED TO
CO-SPONSOR A PRESENTATION FOR ALL PARENTS & GUARDIANS - Wednesday, March 28th
from 7-8:15 PM at the BHS Auditorium.
Understanding How to Parent So that
Children Can Succeed: Addressing Childhood Anxiety and its Potential
Pathway towards Substance Abuse – Special guest speaker, Jessica Lahey,
veteran teacher, journalist, and author of The
Gift of Failure: How the Best Parents Learn to Let Go So Their Children Can
Succeed.
Jessica Lahey
will provide insight on how to raise kids who are happy and healthy and less
likely to turn to destructive coping strategies, including ways to prevent
childhood addiction. Lahey will also
share research on the most effective ways to parent and support the
psychosocial and emotional needs of our children. Additionally, she will outline risk factors,
explain which positive interventions can overcome those risk factors, and offer
parents and teachers actionable, useful tools for raising happy, resilient
children who will be less likely to turn to unhealthy behaviors when faced with
the increasingly toxic stress and anxiety they face at home, in school and in
our society. This event is open to all
parents/guardians.
The 45-minute
presentation will be followed by a 30-minute question and answer session.
PANERA & PTG – Take a night off from cooking
and join us at our Bedford PTG Night at Panera (Colby Court) on Thursday, March
