I want to wish everyone a happy, healthy and
relaxing summer! Best wishes to our 4th
grade students who are moving up to McKelvie School, as well as those students
who are moving over the summer. You will
be missed at RBS!
IN THE NEWS:
Move-Up Day
Students were able to
visit their new teachers and classmates for a brief time this morning. The children seemed excited to meet their
teachers and some new friends!
Robyn McGilvary Award
Each year we present a 4th
grade student with the Robyn McGilvary Award.
This is given to a student who has displayed Robyn’s character, warm-heartedness
and humor. The recipient receives $100
(This money was donated by family and friends in lieu of flowers when Robyn
passed away in April 2011.), flowers donated and presented by Robyn’s husband,
John, and his/her name on a plaque, which is hung outside of the office at
Riddle Brook School. This year’s winner
is Sean Kraus. Congratulations to Sean
and his family!

Parent Digital Portfolio Access
All students in the
Bedford School District have a digital portfolio. Each year students select at least one project
to include in their digital portfolio. Students
include a project description, an artifact, and a reflection stating what they
learned as they created their artifact. Appropriate
technology standards are identified for each project as well.

RBS Yearbooks for
Sale
If
you did not purchase a RBS yearbook, we have some for sale in the office
($25). Checks can be made out to Riddle
Brook School.

Report Cards
As a reminder,
student report cards are available online only in the
PowerSchool Parent Access Portal. To access your child's report
card online, log into the PowerSchool Parent Portal and you will see a Report
Cards icon in the left hand pane. When you click on this icon your
child's report card will appear on the screen. You can scroll to see the
entire report card and choose to print it, if you'd like. If you’d like a printed report
card, please print it prior to July 1st, as it will not be available
after we do roll over (some time in July). Anytime you click on the Report Cards icon,
the most recent report card will generate. Quarter 4 report cards will be
available to view on Monday, June 19th at 12:45 PM.

Summer Skills Math Books
Summer is almost
here! If you would like to order a
Summer Skills Math Sharpener workbook for your child, please click HERE and click on the “Parent Order”
tab. You will be able to order the book online and it will be shipped
right to your house.
The purpose of these
workbooks is to review the math
skills taught during the school year. It
is suggested that you order a workbook that is at the same grade level that your child is in NOW.

Registration
As
a reminder, if you have incoming kindergarten or grade 1 students for the
2017/18 school year, please come into the school to register them ASAP.
Registration is now
open for the 5th Annual Friends of Aine Kid’s Try-athlon
The 5th Annual Friends
of Aine Kid’s Try-athlon will be held on Sunday, August 13,
2017. The only event of its kind in the
area, the kid’s try-athlon is designed specifically for children ages 4-15
years, in memory of Aine Phillips, who was a student at Riddle Brook School. Beginning at the Bedford town pool,
participants ages 4-10 years will swim 25 yards, run 1/2 mile and bike 1 mile. Older participants ages 11-15 will swim 50
yards, run 1 mile and bike 2 miles. We
are pleased to announce that this year Millennium Running will be our event
partner. At the finish line, families
are invited to enjoy music, jump roping, an obstacle course, water games, face
painting, concessions, raffle prizes and much more! Friends of Aine is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit
organization. All proceeds from this
event go toward support for grieving children. For more information, to register, volunteer

BHS Girls’ Basketball Clinic
The BHS girls’ basketball
team will be hosting a series of skills clinics on Thursday evenings in July.
(The first on is actually June 29th.) The clinics are for any girls entering 3rd through
9th grade and no basketball experience is required. Please see THIS

Camp
Invention
Does your child like to take things apart, and design, color and create? Are you interested in unlocking your child's
potential this summer? Camp Invention may be a great fit.
This year's camp will be held at McKelvie Intermediate School July 10 -
July 14 from 8:30 AM - 3:00 PM. Camp Invention is the only
nationally acclaimed summer enrichment day experience for children entering
grades K through 6th grade taught by certified teachers. Here's

The school calendar for
next year can be found HERE. The last day of school for the 2017/18 school
year is Wednesday, June 13th.
Bedford Food Pantry – Items Needed for Children
Food Insecurity is a
growing concern across the nation and right here in our own backyard. Nearly 350 adults and children in Bedford
qualify for food stamps and more than 167 families in Bedford meet the income
standards for the government’s free school lunch program.
If you are able to donate THESE
ITEMS (these are ongoing donations), please bring them by the Bedford Food
Pantry at the Bedford Presbyterian Church, 4 Church Road, Bedford, NH.
