IN THE NEWS:
RBS 4th
Grade Geography Bee
RBS held our 4th
grade National Geographic GeoBee final competition on Monday, January 27th.
The goal of the event was to determine our school GeoBee champion. After many rounds of very difficult
questions, our pool of 9 finalists was narrowed down to two, Gemma Harl and
Nick Cabana. We then moved on to the
Championship Round, and ultimately to a Championship Tiebreaker Round. Gemma Harl was eventually named our National Geographic
GeoBee Champion, and will take an online qualifying test to determine
eligibility to compete in our State GeoBee.
Best of luck to
her, and congratulations to all of our finalists this year!
Finalists:
Ethan Alexander
Rylan Taggart
Gemma Harl
Hannah Laramie
Grace Santerre
Amylee White
Nick Cabana
Nate Manseau
Archie Jackson
Parent Drop
Off
As a reminder…please
do not get out of your car when you’re dropping off your child in the
morning. It creates a back up and a
potential safety hazard.
A Safety
Message from our Transportation Coordinator (Anne Wiggin)
It has been reported
that when some students miss their bus in the morning, their parents are
dropping them off at a different bus stop to take the bus to school. Often times, they get out of a parent's
vehicle and run up to the bus door from behind the bus. The bus drivers aren't able to see them coming,
which creates a very dangerous situation. Moving forward, if students miss their bus,
parents will need to bring them to school rather than trying to catch up with
the bus.
Krispy Kreme
Fundraiser (BHS Prom Committee)
The BHS Prom
Committee is holding their annual Krispy Kreme fundraiser. If you would like to pre-order a box (or more)
of donuts, please use this link. Pick up is Tuesday, February 11th,
at Primary voting from 7 am-7pm. Boxes will
also be on sale until donuts run out.

REMINDERS:
Absenteeism
Mrs. Daley
(Principal of Peter Woodbury School) made THIS
VIDEO for her school’s parents.
Please take a minute to watch it, as what she states in it applies to
RBS as well. It is vitally important
that students are at school each day unless they are sick. Per the DISTRICT
POLICY, if your child reaches the 10 and/or 15 day mark, it is documented
and you may be hearing from the nurse, teacher, guidance counselor, special
education team (if applicable) or administration, if you have not already
reached out regarding your child’s illness, etc. As always, if you or your child needs help in
any way, please reach out to one of us.
We are here to help!

Spirit
Days
I
wanted to give parents a heads up about our upcoming Spirit Days. In past
years, we had Spirit Week the week before both February and April Vacations.
Last year, our Principal’s Advisory Group decided to do it a little differently
by having a Spirit Day 1 day a week for 5 weeks. This schedule was a hit
last year, so we’re continuing with it this year.
Here
is our upcoming January/February Schedule:
Friday,
Feb. 7 – Retro Day (Dress from your favorite decade.)
Friday,
Feb. 14 – Valentine’s Day
Friday,
Feb. 21 – RBS Spirit Day
Bakers (or Buyers) Needed for our Lady’s Choice Dance
Our
annual Girl’s Choice Dance is scheduled for Friday, February 7th, and we’re looking for parents
who are willing to donate baked goods for the event. Students were sent
home with THIS INFORMATION, but I wanted to include it
here as well. Ticket information will be going home on Friday, January
24th.
