Special Education Update
The NH Special Education
Procedural Safeguards Handbook was recently updated to reflect changes in the
3/25/17 revisions to the NH Rules for the Education of Children with
Disabilities. Click here for
a copy or contact your child's case manager for a paper copy. Additional information can be obtained through
the Parent Information Center here.
Executive
Functioning and Hygiene Messages
Executive
Functioning
Good Bosses
understand that different people think differently, even when they hear and see
the same thing. This can be confusing, so remember to use your “Check-in”
strategy. Ask your friend, “What do you think that is?” or “Why do you think
that happened?” Then share what you think you saw or heard and how it
made you feel. Flexible Bosses can shift their thinking and understand
both sides of a story.
Hygiene
Did you know
that dirt and germs often hide under your fingernails? Take a look. If you see dirt and germs, remember to give
your hands and nails a good wash, especially before you eat or share food or
toys with a friend. Clean nails, happy trails!
Back to School Kits
Take the hassle out
of BACK TO SCHOOL SUPPLY shopping. The Bedford PTG is partnering with
SchoolKidz, a Staples Company, to offer pre-ordered, grade level specific,
school supply kits for students. Kits
are available for students entering grades K-8. Order forms will be coming home in backpacks
by May 19th. You can
also order online at www.shopttkits.com and
enter your school’s account number. NOTE: When ordering, be sure to select the kit for
the grade your child will be entering in the fall. All orders are due
by June 9th. Kits
will be delivered directly to your child’s classroom prior to the first day of
school. Please contact bedfordnhptg@gmail.com with any
questions.

REMINDERS:
Ticks
Some parents have inquired as to whether or not we treat our playground
for ticks. I want to make sure that
parents know that we have not/do not treat our playgrounds. I know this is predicted to be a heavy year
for ticks, so if you are concerned, I wanted to refer you to some PREVENTION INFORMATION
(suggestions listed on page 2 under Can
Lyme Disease Be Prevented?).
