RBS Principal’s
Notes

2020
IN THE NEWS:
Spirit Days
I wanted to give
parents a heads up about our upcoming Spirit Days. In past years, we had Spirit Week the week
before both February and April Vacations.
Last year, our Principal’s Advisory Group decided to do it a little
differently by having a Spirit Day 1 day a week for 5 weeks. This schedule was a hit last year, so we’re
continuing with it this year.
Here is our
upcoming January/February Schedule:
Friday, Jan. 24 – Favorite
Holiday
Friday, Jan. 31 – Favorite
Character (can be book, tv, movie, comic, etc.)
Friday, Feb. 7 – Retro
Day (Dress from your favorite decade.)
Friday, Feb. 14 – Valentine’s
Day
Friday, Feb. 21 –
RBS Spirit Day

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY - Program
Research Coordinator: Help the PTG find new educational
and enriching programs to bring into our schools, and relevant speakers to
bring to our community. The PTG funds author visits, artists, performance
groups, animal encounters and so much more. We are looking for someone to help
us research new ideas and speakers. Please email BedfordNHPTG@gmail.com
by January 10th if you are interested in this role.
REMINDERS:
Morning Drop Off
As a reminder, children should not be walking alone from Visitor Parking
into the building. As you can imagine,
traffic in our parking lot is very busy in the morning, and it is a safety
hazard for students to be walking alone.
Please park and walk your child into the building. You will also need to sign your child in at
the office. Thank you!
Snow Day
Lunch Info./Announcements
I want to let
parents know how the district deals with hot lunches following a snow day. There
is no rule of thumb when determining the lunch menu on the day following a snow
day as the menu for that day is dependent upon what was on the menu the day of
the snow day, what prep the kitchen had to do, and what fresh produce the
kitchen had ordered. Therefore, our district’s Food Service Director
(Emily Murphy) provides an announcement on the SAU’s website (www.sau25.net) in
the District News box, which will detail, by school, what the
hot lunch offering will be the day following the snow day. This
information will be available the day of the snow day.
Food Pantry
RBS is working
with the Bedford Food Pantry to help
collect food items that are most needed by families. Every
other month we will be collecting 1 food item. For the month of January, that item is SINGLE
SERVE JUICE. If you are able, please bring in single serve juice
until Friday, January 24th. We will have a box for donations
in the office hallway outside of the library. Thank you so much for
supporting this very worthy cause, which supports Bedford families.
