RBS Principal’s Notes
April 3, 2020
Thank you to families for your continued partnership and flexibility during this period of Remote Learning. We recognize that many of you are on the front lines of this crisis, and as such, we need to offer you additional guidance, grace and flexibility. PLEASE reach out to your child’s teacher if this is the case for your family.

IN THE NEWS:
Remote Learning Schedule Update
Assistant Superintendent Laliberte sent a letter today to staff and families outlining an update to our Remote Learning schedule and process. If you haven’t yet seen it, you can access it HERE.
Parent Questionnaire
Your child’s teacher(s) sent out the weekly Parent Questionnaire in today’s communication. Teachers are using the results to help calibrate and plan their weekly lessons. Please fill it out for EACH of your children. Thank you!
Mickey Spain Facebook Live Concert
Each year on the day before Spring Vacation, Mickey Spain and his band provide a fun and engaging concert for our students. Ask your child about it! Since he’s not able to visit schools this spring, he is offering a concert via Facebook Live on Sunday, April 5th at noon. He promises plenty of singing, dancing and fun! Tune in with your children, if you’re able! You can search Mickey Spain Music on Facebook to find it.
Mindfulness
Just like anything you want to learn, Mindfulness takes practice. Try this Mindfulness exercise for one minute at the beginning of every day. Sit tall in a chair with quiet hands in your lap. Have your eyes look at one point in the room. Have your ears be listening. Your mouth should be quiet. Can you keep your whole body calm; not moving, wiggling, or talking for one minute? If you practice every day, you will be able to have a mindful body.
REMINDERS:
Report Cards
The decision was made to delay report cards for grades 1-6 by one week. Report cards will now be released through Power School on Friday, April 10th. This is not to push the quarter back by a week, but to give teachers a little extra time to input grades.
School Access
At this point, the school is closed to all visitors. If you need to get in touch with someone at the school, please call our main line (471-1082) and leave a message. Someone will get back to you in a timely manner.
Playground Access
Given the guidance from the CDC and DHHS about stopping the transmission of the COVID-19 virus, our school playground is CLOSED until further notice.
RBS Yearbook Information
2020 Riddle Brook Yearbook Update
Online ordering is still available at www.SchoolAnnual.com through April 19th. Click "Buy Student's Yearbook" in the upper right hand corner and enter Riddle Brook School. Yearbooks are $20.00. Any cash or check orders that were already sent into the school will not be processed due to the current remote learning circumstances. Please order a yearbook online and your cash or check will be returned to you as soon as possible.
Yearbook Call for Photos!!
We are adding remote learning pages to the yearbook this year! If you would like to contribute, send a photo of your student(s) to jen.spector@gmail.com. These photos can be creative - they do not have to be of your students working on their Chromebooks. Anything fun students have enjoyed while being home over these past couple of weeks will work. Thank you!!
Yearbook Coordinators Needed
The current yearbook coordinators are looking for their replacements for next year! Please contact Jen Spector or Ashley Rousseau if you are interested: jen.spector@gmail.com or
