IN THE NEWS:
Parent/Guardian
and Teacher Communication Action
Item
Based on data
collected from the Tripod Parent Engagement Survey, Superintendent Fournier has
asked teachers to focus on parent/guardian and teacher communication. Specifically, he’s asked teachers to help
parents/guardians with the following information:
- Inform families of the role they should play in their
child’s education
- Show families how they can help their students with
homework
- Maintain frequent, quality communication throughout the
year
- Help identify, address, and prevent non-developmentally
appropriate stress and anxiety
Each of our
teachers have put together a document addressing these topics (for grade 1, it
is a slideshow). I would ask that all
parents/guardians please take a few minutes to read through it. The information is located on each teacher’s
website under Classroom Information (menu on the left hand side of the
page), and it is called Parent/Guardian Communication. For your convenience, HERE is
our staff directory.
A collaborative
and positive parent/guardian and teacher (school) partnership is essential to
our students’ success. As such, we look
forward to working with all of our families to ensure a happy and successful
school year!

Tripod
Survey Information
Between October 7th and October 25th, the district will administer the "Tripod Survey" to students in grades 2 - 12 (grade 1 will participate in the spring). For the elementary schools, this includes "specials" (i.e. art, music, library and physical education) as well as enrichment. This survey asks for the students' perspectives on our teaching practices. All survey responses are anonymous and confidential. The purpose is to use this feedback to help our professional staff continue to improve. This year, parents were able to provide permission for their child to take the survey through InfoSnap registration. If you opted your child out of the survey, please know that we will make other arrangements for him/her during the time that his/her class is taking the survey.
