End-of-the-Year Information
Please read THIS LETTER for important information as we close out the school year.

Senior Clap Out
We had our 2st annual Senior Clap Out on Wednesday afternoon for former RBS students.  It was a GREAT experience for everyone!  Please take a look at the RBS Facebook page for pictures.

National Invention Convention
Congratulations to RBS third grader, Andie Nugent who participated in the National Invention Convention.  Andie won two 1st place prizes:
  • 1st Place Overall for Grades 3 & 4
  • 1st Place in the Technology/Wearables Category for Grades K-12
We are very proud of Andie’s accomplishments!

RBS PTG Donation to RBS
As this is always such a busy time of year, the PTG decided to forego their annual volunteer luncheon, and instead use the money that is typically spent on the luncheon towards a gift for RBS.  I’m pleased to say that 3 weaving looms were donated to our art room.  Mrs. Read will certainly put them to good use with our students!  THANK YOU, PTG AND PARENTS!

Summer Skills Math Books
Summer is almost here!  If you would like to order a Summer Skills Math Sharpener workbook for your child, please click HERE and click on the “Parent Order” tab.  You will be able to order the book online and it will be shipped right to your house.

The purpose of these workbooks is to review the math skills taught during the school year.  It is suggested that you order a workbook that is at the same grade level that your child is in NOW.

Take the hassle out of BACK TO SCHOOL SUPPLY shopping.  The Bedford PTG is partnering with SchoolKidz, a Staples Company, to offer pre-ordered, grade level specific, school supply kits for students.  Kits are available for students entering grades K-8.  Order forms will be coming home in backpacks by May 19th.  You can also order online at and enter your school’s account number.  NOTE:  When ordering, be sure to select the kit for the grade your child will be entering in the fall.  All orders are due by June 9th.  Kits will be delivered directly to your child’s classroom prior to the first day of school.  Please contact with any questions.

Executive Functioning and Hygiene Messages
Executive Functioning
Remember, an Executive is a Boss, or a person who is in charge..   This year you have learned many strategies to help you be in charge of yourselves, so that you can be a better “Boss of Yourself.”  Keep up the good work, so you can say with confidence, “I am the Boss of me!”

PTG News/Information
The first annual Bedford PTG Color Blast 5k was an amazing success and we want to extend a huge thank you to all of the participants as well as the volunteers who made the event outstanding!

As we close out another school year, the Bedford PTG would like to extend our gratitude and thanks to all of our volunteers who selflessly give their time to support our events throughout the school year.  It is due to our amazing volunteers that we can provide so many enriching programs to Bedford students.

Enjoy the summer!

K & 1 Registration
As a reminder, if you have incoming kindergarten or grade 1 students for the 2017/18 school year, please come into the school to register them ASAP.

Registration is now open for the 5th Annual Friends of Aine Kid’s Try-athlon
The 5th Annual Friends of Aine Kid’s Try-athlon will be held on Sunday, August 13, 2017.  The only event of its kind in the area, the kid’s try-athlon is designed specifically for children ages 4-15 years, in memory of Aine Phillips, who was a student at Riddle Brook School.  Beginning at the Bedford town pool, participants ages 4-10 years will swim 25 yards, run 1/2 mile and bike 1 mile.  Older participants ages 11-15 will swim 50 yards, run 1 mile and bike 2 miles.  We are pleased to announce that this year Millennium Running will be our event partner.  At the finish line, families are invited to enjoy music, jump roping, an obstacle course, water games, face painting, concessions, raffle prizes and much more!  Friends of Aine is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization.  All proceeds from this event go toward support for grieving children.  For more information, to register, volunteer or to make a donation, please visit or

BHS Girls’ Basketball Clinic

Special Education Update
The NH Special Education Procedural Safeguards Handbook was recently updated to reflect changes in the 3/25/17 revisions to the NH Rules for the Education of Children with Disabilities.  Click here for a copy or contact your child's case manager for a paper copy.  Additional information can be obtained through the Parent Information Center here.

Some parents have inquired as to whether or not we treat our playground for ticks.  I want to make sure that parents know that we have not/do not treat our playgrounds.  I know this is predicted to be a heavy year for ticks, so if you are concerned, I wanted to refer you to some PREVENTION INFORMATION (suggestions listed on page 2 under Can Lyme Disease Be Prevented?).

Camp Invention
Does your child like to take things apart, and design, color and create?  Are you interested in unlocking your child's potential this summer?  Camp Invention may be a great fit.  This year's camp will be held at McKelvie Intermediate School July 10 - July 14 from 8:30 AM - 3:00 PM.  Camp Invention is the only nationally acclaimed summer enrichment day experience for children entering grades K through 6th grade taught by certified teachers.  Here's a sneak peek at what's in store for this year’s camp.

Click here to register online, or here to view our paper flyer.
You can save $15 by registering on or before May 1st with the promo code DISCOVER15.   If you have any questions, please contact the director, Courtney Cheetham at
