RBS Principal’s Notes
April 14, 2017

IN THE NEWS:
Placement
As we move into the last stretch of the school year, we are starting to think about placement for 2017/18.  Please read the attached letter, which outlines the process.

Mother/Son Dance (Luau Theme)
Moms – mark your calendars!  Our annual Mother/Son Dance is scheduled for Friday, May 5th.  Students were sent home with a form today.  I’ve included it below as well.

Pan Mass Challenge
Please take a look at this FLYER for details on the upcoming Pan Mass Challenge.  This is a bicycling event that provides Dana-Farber's doctors and researchers the necessary resources to discover cures for all types of cancer.  This year’s event will honor Emma Bechert, a former RBS student, who passed away this past August.

Executive Functioning and Hygiene Messages
Executive Functioning
Good Bosses get themselves ready for work, so they can do their best to follow their Plans.  The 1-2-3 Blast Off!!! strategy helps.  #1 take a deep breath in; #2 let the deep breath out; #3 read all your directions; then Blast Off to do your work because your brain and body are now ready.
Hygiene
Our hands come in contact with many germs.  Most of the infections we get, like colds or the flu, are caught when our hands get germs on them, and then we put them into our mouths.  Regular hand washing, especially before and after certain activities, is one of the best ways to remove germs, and stay healthy.
